    Equestrian CentreThe Skallerup Equestrian Centre is located at Klithusegaarden Farm, 1.4 km from the central building. The Equestrian Centre has 50 Icelandic horses and 10 Shetland ponies and offers guided tours riding for both beginners and skilled riders. The calm Icelandic horse is very suitable for turridning because of its comfortable gait "tolt" (Rack). The tours follow riding routes through varied nature and protected inland dunes. We ride along rivers, in dune plantations and on the beach at the North Sea. WE OFFER: Guided riding • 1, 1 ½, 2 and 3 hour rides on Icelandic horses • Day trips • Multi-day trips can be arranged • Summer riding school (min. 10 participants) The pace will be planned after the riders wishes and experience. Hand-led pony rides at Klithusegård It is possible to rent Shetland ponies, so the youngest can get a hand-led ride on the trails at the farm.
Practical information Riding helmets are available for hire at the Equestrian Centre. Guides accompany all rides. During periods (particularly in the winter half of the year) when weather does not permit riding, all riding will be cancelled. Out of concern for the horses, the weight limit for riding guests is 95 kg. All activities at the Equestrian Centre or riding on the horses is at your own risk. |
